Pupils needing extra support
Could use pre-cut shapes and ready-rolled newspaper pieces to enable them to focus on trying the different joining methods; may use one or two joining techniques, e.g. creating tabs, that work for them rather than exploring all the options.
Pupils working at greater depth
Could ask the children questions like “How did you know that would work?”, “Why did you choose that join?”, “How are you working differently from last week?”; may generate their own ideas for how to shape card and try new ways of combining parts of their sculptures.
