Pupils needing extra support:

Should be encouraged to keep their motif simple, for example, playing from C – G and back again; could offer simpler instruments or pre-recorded motifs for these pupils to manipulate, ensuring they can participate without feeling overwhelmed.

Pupils working at greater depth:

Should be encouraged to use leaps within their motif, rather than just notes next to each other, for example, CC GG EE C; could encourage these pupils to explore beyond the given notes (C—G) and use a wider range of instruments
