Differentiation

Pupils needing extra support: Can work in pairs or groups to share the workload, completing the worksheet together, using the holiday planner for support.

Pupils working at greater depth: Challenge children to expand their answers on the holiday planner further, creating a written paragraph about their holiday plans, adding in reasons why they want to go there.  Some may wish to read this out loud to help progress their fluency.

Wrapping up

During the week

  • Research different parts of France.  You can use the internet but also get holiday brochures from your local travel agent. Try your local charity shops for travel guides also.
  • Why not ask the travel agent to come into school and give a talk about travelling to France?
  • Prepare a wall display or a travel book for the class to record all their plans.
