Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Should use the Activity: John Blanke’s inventory: support version showing some examples of items in the rooms; could choose two rooms and complete a list of ten items in John Blanke’s inventory during the Main event; could look at example inventories in the Resource: Tudor inventories explored in the previous lesson when making an inventory for John Blanke.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should explain why they have suggested the choice of items or write their explanations in their book; could consider their responses to the following questions: How would you use your inventory to learn more about the Tudor period? What questions would you ask John Blanke about the items you included in the inventory? Which item would you choose to learn more about? What items would be included in your own inventory and what would they tell future historians about children from the current time?; could reflect on the differences then and now of the value of the items listed using the currency converter in link: 'National Archives - Currency converter' (see Teacher knowledge).
