Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could say the words for the call and response at a slow tempo; could have a partner or other adult clap the sound patterns at the same time.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should try to repeat the ‘hippo’ sound pattern independently; could create their own sound patterns for animals; could march a beat in between each sound pattern (using four or eight steady beats in between would help keep the children in time to the beat of the music).
