Pupils should be taught that:
- Improvise and compose music for a range of purposes using the inter-related dimensions of music
- Use and understand staff and other musical notations
Differentiation
Pupils needing extra support: Would benefit from adult support if available.
If a pupil is struggling to notate, they could point to the rhythms in the Presentation: Rhythmic elements and another child or adult can notate.
Pupils working at greater depth: Can support other children in the class and should use Steve Reich’s ‘Clapping music’ as stimulation.
