Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could begin by striking the ball from standing, going through the motions step by step; could be encouraged not to throw the beanbag too far away in the Marbles game; could have bigger goals and could have fewer defenders in the More to score game.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should practise striking the ball with a run-up and use a range of techniques; could practise shots against a goalkeeper; could play the More to score game with the following stipulations added:

  • Every player on the team must score.
  • They need to make three passes before scoring.
  • They cannot score in a goal consecutively.
