Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing support

Could focus on ‘Leaving the garden’ or ‘The birth of Jesus’ extracts, which they will already be familiar with; could use the Resource: Bible chronology: support version during the Main event as a reminder of the key events.

Pupils working at greater depth

Could suggest why Christmas may or may not be the most important part of the big story; should focus on the ‘Jesus’ ascension’ extract which they are less likely to be familiar with; could look up the extracts in a paper or online Bible and read directly from there.
