Display the Presentation: Range of answers. Ask the children to choose which name for Jesus they think best represents the image shown. Encourage the children to suggest other words they have learned about that are not listed on the slide.

Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support:

Could focus on the accounts ‘Jesus Calms the Storm’ and ‘Jesus and the Little Children’ as these have been explored in previous units; could suggest how different people at the events may have responded or felt rather than suggesting hidden meanings.

Pupils working at greater depth:

Should consider how people might have responded negatively in response to the events; should think about how a non-religious or non-Christian person may have responded to the events in the stories; could suggest their own interpretations rather than using the suggestions provided; could read the accounts directly from the Bible.
