Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support:
Could use the Resource: Naming Jesus (support) in the Main event to remind the children of the meaning of some of Jesus’ names; could find two images for each name rather than reading the passages and linking those to names; could choose or be given names to discuss.
Pupils working at greater depth:
Should suggest visual representations that could be used for different names; should make links between Jesus’ names and stories they have heard about him in previous learning (for example, Jesus the Messiah, Saviour, God or King from prophecies believed to be about him); should identify their own links between a psalm and a name of Jesus associated with it during the Wrapping up activity.
