Provide each child with a whiteboard and pen and ask them to create three drawings depicting three things that people might do when celebrating Diwali. (Drawings could include fireworks, family, presents, stories, food, special clothing, henna tattoos or diya lamps.)

Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support:
Could use a print-out of the Presentation: Advent candles to remind them of the different candles used on an Advent wreath.
Pupils working at greater depth:
Should write a caption on a piece of paper for each candle placed on the wreath, providing key information about what the candle represents; could write and prepare a card conveying a well-wishing sentiment.
