Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support
Could be given criteria to sort the images in the adult-led task (e.g. yellow and non-yellow flowers or large and small petals); could be given plain paper on which to record (draw) their observations on the flower hunt instead of completing the Activity: Flower hunt.
Pupils working at greater depth
Should answer the question on the Activity: Similarities and differences by sticking a pre-cut strip in their books and writing an answer underneath; could sort the images into a Venn diagram for the adult-led task (e.g. yellow and non-yellow flowers and an overlapping group in the centre named ‘wildflowers’).
