Pupils needing extra support

Could have the Resource: Animal diet facts read to them before the lesson and be directed towards the words in bold when writing their answers for task one; should refer to the Resource: Animal diet posters and note down only one or two foods per animal when completing task two.

Pupils working at greater depth

Could label their pictures with features that help animals obtain food for task one (e.g. pig: a sensitive snout, eagle: sharp talons to grab prey and elephant: long trunk to reach fruit); could write their own animal riddles similar to the audio clips in the Wrapping up section.
