Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support
Could be provided with two sticky notes with north and south written on each and stick one to each hand for the Attention grabber activity instead of using thumbs up and down; could use the Resource: Model bar chart (support) to help them draw their chart correctly and to compare it to when evaluating their finished product.
Pupils working at greater depth
Could be selected to role play the answer to the question of how we determine which is the north pole of the unknown magnet in the Attention grabber; should write a conclusion for the experiment using the results table and bar chart as evidence; could choose an extension activity relating to magnets from the Resource: Stretch and challenge: Forces and magnets.
