Lesson plan

Recap and recall

Before the lesson, make sure any clocks are covered so the children cannot see the time. Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could use the Resource: Design prompts (support) to help them create their design; could view the completed graph of slide 9 of the Presentation: Satellites and climate change to help them draw the line of best fit on their own graph.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should use the link: Kiddle to research and write a short biography in their books for either Tom Wagg (a British astrophysicist who discovered a new planet when he was just 15) or Mae Jemison (the first African American woman to travel to space); could choose an extension activity relating to the Earth and space unit from the Resource: Stretch and challenge: Earth and space.
