Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could use the life cycle diagram from the Resource: Plant life cycle poster to help identify the correct order of the life cycle stages in the Attention grabber; could use the flower diagram from the Knowledge organiser to identify the parts of a flower in the flower dissection activity; could use the Resource: Video transcript (support) to help with the wrapping up task.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should design their own table to record mass as well as root length and calculate the increase in mass/growth rate using a sensitive scale; could choose an extension activity relating to plant reproduction from the Resource: Stretch and challenge: Life cycles and reproduction.
