Recap and recall

Before starting this unit, you might want to check the children can recall: Counting to ten in Spanish (uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho, nueve, diez). The Spanish vowel sounds ‘a’, ‘e’, ‘o’, ‘i’ and ‘u’ – these can be revised using the Pupil phonics videos, as needed.

Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could use the Activity: Classroom instructions bingo: support version, which has the written Spanish instructions alongside each symbol as an extra aid to help with the listening activity.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should be encouraged to write in the classroom instructions in Spanish during the Activity: Classroom instructions bingo.
