Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Should be encouraged to use two contrasting highlighter colours to highlight the un or una on each object’s word label and then highlight the masculine and feminine sorting labels in the corresponding colours, to aid in sorting the masculine and feminine objects; could use the Resource: Knowledge organiser: Spanish – Classroom objects to support with vocabulary choices.

Pupils working at greater depth

Could use a dictionary, with some guidance to find the gender indicators, to find out other names for classroom objects and decide if they are masculine or feminine.
