Recap and recall

Display the Presentation: Retrieval race. Read each clue aloud and ask the children to discuss in pairs what word or phrase the clue refers to. Take feedback, then click on each tile to reveal the answers.

Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Should use their completed copies of the Activity: Fiesta vocabulary match from the previous lesson during the Recap and recall; should use Activity: Looking up verbs: support version during the Main event; 

Pupils working at greater depth

Should list synonyms for each verb in Spanish, translating their exact meaning in English; should independently identify the three different types of infinitive verbs in Spanish and use the Spanish-to-English part of the dictionary to identify more verbs ending in ‘er’ or ‘ir’ prior to slide 2 of the Presentation: Spanish verbs being displayed to the whole class.
