Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support:
Should use the Knowledge organiser to support with vocabulary for family members during the ‘Building sentences’ and ‘Family members game’ activities; should lay the sentence starter cards face up in the ‘Family members game’ and select the correct ending.
Pupils working at greater depth:
Should be challenged to describe family members in multiple ways, e.g. ‘the mother of my mother’ is also ‘the grandmother of my sister’; could make up and write alternative starter and ending cards.
