Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support
Could use the Resource: Directions transcripts at the start of the Attention grabber to support their listening and understanding; should use the Knowledge organiser during the Main event to support in translating and understanding the audio clips; could be encouraged to colour-code the key words on the sheet such as izquierda – left, and derecha – right, as well as annotate the words primera/segunda/tercera – first/second/third, with the numbers 1, 2 or 3 to aid their understanding.
Pupils working at greater depth
Should complete the activities in the Attention grabber and Main event with a high level of independence; could, once the Activity: Following directions is complete, write their own directions from one landmark to another, e.g. from the temple to the pyramid.
