Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support:
Could explore less of the traditions in the Resource: Christmas traditions; could use the vocabulary listed on the Knowledge organiser when discussing their ideas.
Pupils working at greater depth:
Should consider how beliefs about God would affect each of the traditions; should think about the symbolism behind each tradition and how it might connect to the Nativity story; could suggest their own criteria for ranking the Christmas traditions, e.g. traditions that show love, traditions connected to the birth of Jesus or traditions that display Christian values.
