A knowledge organiser is a visual summary of the key facts, vocabulary and themes taught in a Kapow Primary unit. This Knowledge organiser complements the Key Stage 1 Year 1 Music unit: Pulse and rhythm, and can be used as a takeaway for the children after the unit is taught or at the end of a school year to recap the learning over the past 39 weeks. It can also be printed on A3 paper and displayed in a classroom. This introductory topic includes lots of activities for getting to know one another. Through listening to a range of different music and playing games, children learn to identify the difference between the pulse and rhythm of a song and consolidate their understanding of these concepts through listening and performing activities.
