A list of essential and optional resources for the Kapow Primary music scheme of work, from EYFS-KS2, including equipment needed for the the Model Music Curriculum whole-class instrumental lessons. This resource should be reviewed before a music unit is taught, so that adequate preparation can be made in advance. The list comprises instruments needed for the units, classroom materials such as stationary, filming equipment, and technology such as laptops or tablets, books (you may be able to borrow some of these from your school library) and more, providing you with a list of everything you will need to teach the Kapow Primary Music units.
For the KS2 instrumental lessons, we suggest choosing from glockenspiels, xylophones, metallophones, chime bars as the tuned percussion instrument. Untuned percussion instruments are not essential to teach this scheme, but if you want to buy specific instruments, then claves, guiros, egg shakers, gongs/cymbals would all be useful.
