Learning objective

  • To apply an understanding of tone to create a 3D drawing

National curriculum

Pupils should be taught:

  • To use drawing, painting and sculpture to develop and share their ideas, experiences and imagination
  • To develop a wide range of art and design techniques in using line, shape, form and space
  • Be taught about the work of a range of artists, craft makers and designers, describing the differences and similarities between different practices and disciplines, and making links to their own work

Differentiation

Pupils needing extra support: Differentiate by giving out planet images according to ability – simpler planets with fewer tones should be given to those needing extra support, e.g. Mars, Uranus, Neptune.

 

Pupils working at greater depth: Will be able to respond to more complex images, e.g. Venus, Earth, Jupiter, Pluto.
