Differentiation

Pupils needing extra support: Can use very simple patterns as they develop confidence (e.g. zig-zag lines, small circles, etc). They may find it easier to just draw with a pencil; they may also be more comfortable with the smaller squares.

Pupils working at greater depth: Should be working more creatively with their patterns and designs and to a high technical level.
