Should choose an instrument which plays steadily throughout the piece and does not rely on keeping time; should clear roles or tasks if necessary to ensure they can participate meaningfully; could use Resource: Teacher notes – folk song lyrics to help with lyrics when singing.

Should add some of the interrelated dimensions of music to their work, for example, dynamics; could having extra-curricular music lessons could bring their own instruments in to contribute to the piece; could provide constructive feedback to their peers.
