National curriculum

All schools should make provision for personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE), drawing on good practice.

The PSHE Association Programme of Study recommends pupils are taught:

  • H23. to identify what they are good at, what they like and dislike
  • H24. how to manage when finding things difficult

Differentiation

Pupils needing extra support: May find the time-limited challenges difficult to cope with. Give them the option to time other children using a stopwatch, if they show signs of becoming agitated.

Pupils working at greater depth: Should explain what a growth mindset is and how it could be applied in different contexts. Should maintain a sense of humour or stay calm throughout the activities.
