Differentiation and assessment

Pupils needing extra support: 

Some pupils may find the decision making element of the task more tricky; they could work with a partner and take turns choosing and sticking to build confidence. Allow pupils to choose whether they use scissors or tear the shapes they need. Support children by asking the questions in the Main event (slide 3 of the Presentation: Creating collage) to help guide their ideas.

 

Pupils working at greater depth:

Encourage them to independently evaluate their decisions in relation to their ideas for the overall collage. They may be able to adapt ideas as they work if things don’t go to plan.
