Pupils should be taught to:
- Develop their techniques, including their control and their use of materials, with creativity, experimentation and an increasing awareness of different kinds of art, craft and design
- To improve their mastery of Art and design techniques, including drawing, painting and sculpture with a range of materials [for example, pencil, charcoal paint, clay]
Differentiation
Pupils needing extra support: Need to ensure they have pressed the object firmly into the dough (but not too firmly). They might need support to get the right amount of ink onto their block.
Pupils working at greater depth: Should experiment with mixing the colours of the printing ink to create more sophisticated colours.
Some pupils might also cut the shape of the print block into a simple tessellation that creates an interesting pattern when printed.
