Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support
May find it easier to work from a photograph initially to build confidence before trying to draw from life; could remind the children to sketch lightly; a writing slope or pencil grip may help; could use a piece of paper cut into one long strip instead of a ruler, lay this alongside a photograph and make small dashes on the paper strip to mark the position of features on the house and lay this on the drawing paper and replicate the marks to help place starting points.
Pupils working at greater depth
Could include shading by hinting at the surrounding area. This can be done by varying the pressure of one pencil or using different grades of pencil.
