Should use the Resource: Network map example to support their understanding of the network layout during the Main event; could be assigned the role of taking photos or filming the role play.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should write instructions on how the file travels around the network; could complete an extension activity where they need to retrieve the headteacher’s ‘secret file’ from the server (they request the server file, encounter a password prompt, return to the laptop to request the password and finally gain access to the file).
