Recap and recall

As this is the first unit in Key stage 1, there is no knowledge to recap with the children. In EYFS (Reception), the children may have learnt to: Use scissors to cut out. Use glue to stick. Use both scissors and glue safely.

Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Should be given a pre-cut hat, rabbit and car; could need further directions to insert the car into the cut grooves; could refer to the demonstration models. 

Pupils working at greater dept

Should begin to look at how to use guides to control the movement of the sliders better.
