Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support:

Should use slide 1 of the Presentation: Finishing the base to help them make their axle move; should use slide 2 to help them make their improved wheels; could use the Knowledge organiser to help them label the diagram and understand how to make a moving axle.

Pupils working at greater depth:

Should explain why each of the items on the Presentation: Wheel design tick list is important (wheels must turn easily so the object can move, wheels must have a central hole so they turn evenly, wheels must be thick so they do not wobble, wheels can be smooth so they turn smoothly and wheels can be fixed to the axle so they do not fall off or wobble).
