Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could be given a pre-cut example of each component and support for comparison; could use the Resource: Automata frame cutting list and the Activity: Automata components template printed to 100% to help mark and measure their wood and card.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should use a ruler and a pencil to mark and measure their wood and card independently of the supporting resources; should make suggestions to their partner on how to mark and measure accurately.
