Recap and recall

This lesson builds on the children’s ability to remember some simple greetings in French and their confidence in using them. Use the Presentation: Greetings to see if the children can remember which greeting to use for different times of the day, and how to say goodbye.

Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could work in small guided groups to increase their confidence in asking and answering the key question, making sure they understand the meaning of each phrase.

 

Pupils working at extra depth

Could answer the comment ça va ? question using different answers in the correct context.  They may also be able to hold a short conversation with a partner to include a greeting sentence to include bonjour – hello and je m’appelle – my name is.
