Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support
Can start with expressing j’aime plus a small selection of words to build 3-4 sentences. Once more confident, they can move on to je n’aime pas. The unit Knowledge organiser will also be a helpful supporting resource.
Pupils working at greater depth
Can be challenged to offer contrasting opinions by extending their sentences using an et or mais (and or but). For example, j’aime les chocolats, mais je n’aime pas les fraises – I like chocolates but I don’t like strawberries.
