Lesson plan

Recap and recall

1. Begin by counting to twenty; can pupils continue beyond twenty, remembering how vingt-et-un uses ‘and’, unlike the remainder of the twenty numbers? 2. Call out a number between 1 – 31. Ask the children to write the number in digits on their whiteboards. Make a note of individuals who may need support with numbers…

Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Can work as a group to complete their daily market signs, checking carefully they spell the days of the week correctly. The Knowledge organiser will be a useful resource to check vocabulary.

Pupils working at greater depth

Challenge them to link ‘yesterday’, ‘today’ and ‘tomorrow’ together to give longer answers. Challenge them to write the days of the week without copying them.
