Differentiation

Pupils needing extra support: Morpion game will work best if the children are organised in mixed ability pairs, or play with a small group versus the teacher. Use fingers for counting to support visually, counting up from 1 each time.

Pupils working at greater depth: challenge them to write a note back to Amélie with a greeting, their name, age and where they live.

Wrapping up

During the week

  • Get the children to answer the register by counting in sequence so the first person says un, the second deux and so on.
  • Children design their own magnificent birthday cake, iced with their name and a sentence to say how old they are.
  • Use numbers and colours in French for all PE activities during the week.
