Recap and recall

Ask the children to work in their table groups to recall the numbers in French from 1-20.  Once they have had a chance to recall the numbers, invite each group to start counting in sets of five, so group 1 counts 1-5 and group 2 counts 6-10. When you get to 20, start again with…

Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Should use a word mat of numbers 1-10 to re-familiarise and recognise links to teen numbers (see for example, Knowledge organiser: French – Y5 – Shopping in France).

 

Pupils working at greater depth

Could generate and say or write their own numbers or prices randomly, extending to four-digit numbers if they are very confident.
