In the Early years foundation stage – Reception, children talked about the past and present events in their own lives and the lives of their family members. They started to compare things from the past to now. The children used timelines to order daily routines.

Should order three events using the Activity: Timeline cards (support).

Pupils working at greater depth

Should explain similarities and differences between them now and in the past; could add labels to the timeline using a range of time vocabulary; could place the photograph they brought in from home on their timeline.
