Lesson 1: Review of learning

Recapping the skills and knowledge acquired over the course of the previous units in the instrumental scheme and performing the tuned percussion parts for the associated songs learned.

Learning objectives

  • To recall and describe key features of known musical genres

  • Play and perform in solo and ensemble contexts, using their voices and playing musical instruments with increasing accuracy, fluency, control and expression
  • Improvise (and compose) music for a range of purposes using the interrelated dimensions of music

Pupils needing extra support: Can play the Sheet music: Put your gumboots on! (tuned percussion part 2)  and Sheet music: What’s the story? (tuned percussion part 2), and Sheet music: Vamos, let’s go! (tuned percussion part 1). They could use the Knowledge organisers for the units during the question sections to support them.
