Pupils needing extra support: Consider allocating a limited number of true/false statements to check; the questions about percussion instruments are straightforward as they use picture clues. If using the knowledge catcher in the Wrapping up section, children’s answers could be recorded in discussion with a partner.

Pupils working at greater depth: Encourage these children to use musical vocabulary in their discussion and back up their answers using facts about Latin American music.
