Invite the children to sit in their own space, in a large circle or horseshoe. Display the Presentation: Spot the mistake. Press the audio button and share with the children a recording of the Audio: Snail and mouse song in which the snail verse is sung at the incorrect speed; it is too fast.

Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support:

Could need verbal prompting to play the correct verse at the appropriate point in the Presentation: The story of snail and mouse. 

Pupils working at greater depth:

Could share the singing and playing in the main event, without the support of the class; could accurately lead singing “Ready, steady, off we go,” in the Wrapping up activity.
