Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could be paired with more confident pupils, allowing them to copy movement phrases from others; could have fewer movement phrases in the sequence or repeat the same movement phrases; could be given a small clock to place on the floor to help them remember where 12, 3, 6 and 9 are positioned.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should be encouraged to use a combination of steps and jumps when developing their own composition; should explore ways of including arm movements in their sequence; could try performing arm movements in the opposite direction to their steps; could lead the whole class in performing movement phrases.
