What others say...
Kapow’s Religion & Worldviews is much more innovative and creative than previous schemes we’ve used. It enhances the thinking of our pupils and reflects and prepares them for life in modern Britain. I am impressed with the teaching and learning tools that support teachers’ workload, especially the focus on vocabulary and the structured progression from teacher-led instruction to children independently applying their learning through activities.
Victoria Unsworth, Headteacher, Mesne Lea Primary School
The Kapow Religion and Worldviews scheme delivers high-quality materials, engaging lessons, and obvious improvements in pupil outcomes. Pupil voice tells us that they love the way that all religions are valued and appreciated, the older children in particular loved the way it gave them chance to talk about the world, sharing their views and being valued as an individual.
One Year 6 pupil said, “I really feel that I have enough knowledge to make my own choice on religion when I grow because I have the information.”
It is excellent value for money, especially in terms of the time it saves teachers and the quality of learning it provides students. It has empowered teachers to teach R&W with confidence and enjoyment.
Michelle Hughes, Ripple Primary School
This is our second year of using the Religion and Worldviews scheme from Kapow and it has made a big impact in our school. We love the teacher and pupil videos which are really clear and explain the concept/activity in just the right amount of detail. Teachers are now much more confident teaching the units, knowing that there is help with vocabulary and key concepts, and the children are making links and connecting with previous units. I would thoroughly recommend this scheme to other schools.
Rachel Worthington, Assistant Principal, Ingoldmells Academy
The children are connecting their views and, as a result of the scheme, developing a deeper understanding of religion and worldwide concepts. They are confidently able to respond to challenging questions, whereas previously, they answered them specifically about one religion. Children now know the vocabulary and can use this confidently within the lessons. They can see how it progresses to the next lesson and builds on the previous year. As a result, the children know and remember more about world religions.
Anmarie Cartwright, Deputy Headteacher, Mesne Lea Primary School
Kapow is organised, has interesting topics, tells you exactly what the teacher needs to know with videos, links to the NC are spot on and the planning and activities are fantastic.
Clare, Kildwick Church of England Primary School
I have found using Kapow very useful and helpful. Resources are already prepared for you, making it easier to focus on other things or just allowing you time to improve your subject knowledge.
Colette Jones, The William Hogarth School
Life has become so much easier as a teacher and as a subject lead I know that key concepts are covered and lessons are clear and follow a logical sequence. There is also room for adapting for my class too.
Rich Lloyd, Brushwood Junior School
Right from the very first trial we had of Kapow, we have found the people helpful and supportive as well as the actual scheme simple and fun to use.
