Pupils needing extra support
Could use the Resource: Water word bank as a prompt to support during discussions and creation of their mindmaps about uses of water; could use the Activity: Water mind map (support) to structure their mind map; could focus on the Christian and Jewish creation story during the Main event as they are likely to be more familiar with it from prior units.
Pupils working at greater depth
Should develop and add connections between ideas when creating a mindmap; could use a colour-coding system on mindmaps to highlight the practical and symbolic uses of water; should explain why some uses of water may be both practical and symbolic based on prior learning or personal experience.
