Pupils needing extra support

Could use the Knowledge organiser: Why is water symbolic? during the Activity: Baptism to support with word definitions; could focus on the questions ‘How is the baptism shown in the video similar or different to Jesus’ baptism?’ or ‘Why do you think water is used in baptism?’ during their group discussion; could use the Resource: What is baptism? summary which contains a summary of the video during their group discussion.

Pupils working at greater depth

Could add their own words to the Activity: Baptism; could talk about the similarities and differences between adult and infant baptism and why someone might choose one or the other; could use an online or paper Bible to look up and read the story of Jesus’ baptism.
