Display the Presentation: Knowledge organiser and hand out the Knowledge organiser (one between two). Ask the children to think of one question to ask a partner about how we know that new babies are special. Challenge them to answer it without looking at the Knowledge organiser.

Could use the Activity: Images to sort (support) and sort the photographs rather than the statements; could start the children off with some cards already added to the Venn diagram; could use overlapping hula hoops to sort the cards into.
Pupils working at greater depth
Could add their ideas about religious or Humanist baby naming ceremonies to the Venn diagram; could make connections with the statements and their learning about baby welcoming ceremonies throughout the unit.
