Recap and recall

Display the Presentation: Brain dump and hand out whiteboards and pens. Allow the children three minutes to note down everything they recall about recycling, which they have learnt about in previous lessons such as RSE & PSHE, Year 3, Citizenship: Lesson 3: Recycling. Take feedback and write down the children’s ideas on the board.

Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could focus on just one of the items in the Activity: How can we reuse? rather than swapping with the group to complete all six items; could verbally describe how each of the items could be reused, rather than writing. 

Pupils working at greater depth

Should be challenged to provide a greater range of benefits and ways to reuse things.
